Abstract

The BBC’s popular documentary “Child of Time” was for many of us a fascinating and real-time
insight into the lives of children and how families and external pressures can have a direct influence
on our lives. But development does not stop at childhood. It is a process that does not stop.

But can we remember our formative years as paediatricians? Probably yes on some level but what
shaped our career plans at the time, perhaps not. We sought a brave cohort of medical students
nearing the end of their undergraduate careers with an interest in Paediatrics. Perhaps not all will
pursue paediatrics or even medicine long-term. But the days of finishing medical school and starting
work as doctor is an incredible adventure. Let’s be a little indulgent and repeat those years with
them!

We must thank Rida, Nikki, Steph & Reeja for their enthusiasm and we look forward to their updates
in the coming editions!
